Breakfast is part of the experience
Mornings at Gem are about more than getting fuel for the day. Breakfast is prepared with care, with options ranging from homemade granola, yoghurt and fruit to cooked favourites such as eggs, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms and hash browns, plus pancakes, toast, preserves, tea, coffee and juice.
If you have a day of exploring ahead, Sally can also help you think through where to go and what to see.
Stay in for dinner
If you would rather enjoy a relaxed evening at Gem, home-cooked dinner can be arranged in advance. Menus use fresh produce and can include a two- or three-course meal, with dessert and drinks available by arrangement.

Are children allowed? The property generally operates under a strict no-children policy for individual bed and breakfast bookings. Children are only permitted if a group books the entire property exclusively.
Can I bring my pet? Unfortunately not, pets are not allowed on the property due to health and safety reasons, as the property has residents' horses and a friendly Labrador named Ollie.

Is breakfast included? Yes, a complimentary cooked or continental breakfast is included with your room booking. Options typically feature granola, fruit and cooked choices with juice each morning.
Are there other dining options? Dinner (two or three courses) can be prepared by the host with at least 24 hours' notice for an additional cost. Wine and beer are also available for purchase.

For guests wanting to stay for 2 nights or more please book with me directly. The rooms are cosy but there is lots of shared lounge space to relax in. The accomodation only hosts a maximum of 2 bookings so it is never busy.

What are the standard check-in and out times? Check-in is strictly between 3.00 PM and 8.00 PM, and check-out is from 7.00 AM until 10 AM

Sorry, but I use the kitchen for my own cooking and I am often cooking for guests also. If you need to reheat something for a light meal I am happy to let you do this after discussion with me and with me present.
